Monday Meditations
Monday: for many of us this day brings a feeling of angst. We fear beginning the week anew because we are so focused on the weekend and wanting to have fun with friends and loved ones and course a little rest and relaxation. This is perhaps one of the biggest downfalls of modern society – the Monday dread. Going to bed Sunday night anxious and already predicting how terrible Monday is GOING to be.
Do you see what is happening here? We are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. We are creating our future. We are presenting the universe with a certain kind of negative energy and you can bet your ass the universe doesn’t only recognize this energy but that it’s going to return the same energy right back to you.
Many of you may decide to “poo poo” the idea of the law of attraction but this is a very real thing. The power of the mind and the energy that follows often dictates not just our mood but also the way in which things happen in our life. Now, that is not to say that we won’t have bad days because were always ‘thinking’ positive. In fact, we should appreciate the hard days. The trials and tribulations. Overcoming these obstacles and problems are what give us a since of completion. Satisfaction. But with this being said it is very important to note that simply thinking positive is not entirely enough – you must truly believe and embrace this positivity. You must be thankful and have an attitude of gratitude and when those are days or moments do arise you must appreciate them too. Without these hard times how else will we ever appreciate the good times. Just as the yin and yang – we must have darkness to truly appreciate the light.
So, today we are fortunate because this is not only the beginning of the week but it is also the end of the month. We are over half way through the year and we are cusping into the last quarter for the year. So, my friends, on this Monday let us break the habit of the Monday dread and rather embrace the Monday meditation.
Be meditative and thankful for the opportunities that are waiting for us. These opportunities are sitting on our finger tips and it is up to us to grasp them. Be thankful it’s the beginning of the week and about to be the beginning of the month. Be thankful that you have another day, another 24 hours, to make better decisions than you did yesterday, last week, and last year. Take charge today and tell yourself – today is the day that will no longer squander opportunity. I will no longer allow myself to succumb to negative self-talk. I will be 1% better today than yesterday and tomorrow I will be 1% than I am today. Today I will be thankful that I am alive. That I can read. That I am free.
Today I am thankful because I have another day of life. Today is my day to be great.
Remember friends, Mondays are for meditations and attitudes of gratitude.
